Something N E W is happening on Bayley Street!

You may have already noticed some changes— last month, Pete and Jan passed the baton to Arber and Danijela, who are bringing fresh energy with another family-operated business to the street.

We got a sneak peek yesterday, and it looks amazing—we can’t wait for you to see it too!

Follow their journey and stay tuned for what’s next!

These last couple of weeks have flown by, the roller coaster of emotions experienced sharing special memories and moments with you all, there have been tears, laughs and smiles.

We thank you for welcoming us into your lives and being part of ours! We are truly grateful for how you have embraced us from the very beginning and created a community that we hope can continue beyond Aposto.

We thank our team, past and present for all you have done each and every day. Big shout out to Ange for being with us from day one. Our daughters Leah and Arnah for their contributions to take our business to the next level and our son in law Anthony always there when we needed an extra hand!

It’s our 4.5 year anniversary!

Did you know that. A P O S T O was originally Pete’s retirement project.

Back when we opened in late 2019 the original plans for Aposto quickly pivoted as Covid hit in our opening months. Fortunately with the amazing community support we survived the pandemic and each year the business has grown. You embraced us from day one and made our efforts feel valued and that’s what kept us going over the last 4.5 years, and we are so very grateful!

As a family we have decided we will be closing our retail doors as of 29 June. This decision wasn’t taken lightly and has been an emotional rollercoaster. The current market has made staffing our small business a challenge, making long days for us as we approach our 70th birthdays this year, we are ready to retire (again!) from cafe life. Aposto will remain in a different capacity as we head into the new financial year, we still aren’t sure how that looks, and we will be taking a break in the meantime.

We have enjoyed being part of the Bayley Street community and your daily routines - we will miss you!

We have a couple more weeks to go, for those who can please pop in we would love to see you before we close our doors.

Love Peter and Jan
