📢 Pinjarra Festival Update
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at the Pinjarra Festival!
Due to expected severe weather conditions, sadly the Pinjarra Festival cannot go ahead on Sunday 31 May, 2026.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting heavy rainfall and damaging winds across the Peel region from Saturday night, continuing through Sunday. Based on this advice and a briefing with emergency services, the Shire considers it necessary to prioritise the safety of stallholders, volunteers, contractors and attendees.
While it was an extremely hard decision to make, the Shire believes this is the responsible choice. The Pinjarra Festival is Murray’s largest, free community event and is a highlight in the Shire’s event calendar. There are many people involved in the successful delivery of the event.
The Shire sends its sincerest gratitude to all involved in the planning and preparation of the event, and thanks vendors and event sponsors for their ongoing support.
We also thank the community, stallholders and volunteers for your understanding and encourage participation in the following activities, which will continue as planned throughout the weekend.

It’s been an exhausting, nerve-racking few days for our growers and community. From preparing for Cyclone Narelle to now watching the river rise, it’s been a lot for everyone to carry. 💛
But today… we welcomed the river. 💦
The mighty Gascoyne is flowing again, something we haven’t seen since December 2024. And while it comes with mixed emotions, it also brings something incredibly important: water for our future.
This flow will help replenish our aquifer and gives our growers the confidence to start replanting. After everything we’ve been through, that’s a powerful sign of hope.
We know the river also impacts many across Carnarvon, with some growers experiencing further loss of crops. Our hearts are with you. Every property, every family, has felt this event in different ways.
But today, we stand together - grateful to see the Gascoyne flow, and hopeful for what comes next 🌱
