Today, we join the AFL community and the wider Australian public in paying tribute to Neale Daniher.
A legend of the game.
A leader beyond the field.
A man who took the fight to MND with courage, humour and extraordinary purpose.
Through FightMND and the Big Freeze, Neale helped turn awareness into action and built a movement that continues to support people living with Motor Neurone Disease while funding the search for a cure.
For every footy fan who has made their way through Melbourne, stopped for a bite, and headed to the game, Nealeโs legacy is impossible to miss.
From all of us at Lord of the Fries, we honour his life, his fight and his remarkable contribution.
Rest in peace, Neale.

Before fries could take over the worldโฆ
they needed a problem solved, not just a story told.
His name was
F. Gilbert โGibโ Lamb.
Founder of Lamb Weston.
Visionary. Inventor. The man with the plan.
He didnโt just improve fries
he changed the way they were designed.
A high-pressure system, built for speed,
launching potatoes with accuracy and need.
Straight through a grid of blades,
where force meets formโฆ and consistency is made.
A tennis racket came to mindโฆ
its strings now blades, all perfectly aligned,
potatoes in at speed and pressure
cut with precision, every measure.
What came out the other side?
Uniform fries.
Consistent size.
No compromise.
It wasnโt just an invention - it redefined the line.
It was the moment fries left the kitchen behindโฆ
and became a global obsession, engineered by design.

Turns outโฆ not everyone was excited about potatoes.
In fact, most people thought they were poisonous.
Wouldnโt eat them.
Wouldnโt touch them.
Wouldnโt even look at them twice.
So Antoine did somethingโฆ unusual.
He put guards around his potato fields.
Not to keep people out but to make them wonder what was worth protecting.
Because nothing sparks interest like something youโre not allowed to have.
