Senior Chef – Healthy food café – full time position - Monday to Friday hours – circa $70,000 plus super

We are on the search for an experienced chef to add to our busy kitchen team at Ladle + Press in Brookfield Place, Perth City.

L+P is a “kitchen with a healthy conscience”. All of our foods are cooked from recipe. Fresh local produce. Great flavours. “Home cooked” style of foods.

Our concept is based on healthy choice foods in a grab and go capacity. Therefore NO plate service or cook to order menu. With high turnover, everything is prepared in bulk.

The right person will be highly motivated, have a positive attitude, a passion for creating great quality, attractive food from scratch and thrive in a busy environment. We have a small team and open kitchen so we need a dedicated professional that enjoys working with both BOH and FOH staff and interacting with customers as needed.

This position would suit a senior chef or perhaps a chef looking for the next step up in running a kitchen. We will consider experienced commercial cooks if proof of skills can be shown.

Working alongside the owner/chef of the business, and taking a key role in taking our café to the next level with our office catering, the successful candidate will be responsible for all kitchen activities including:

• maintaining the high standards of foods that we deliver to our customers – taste and appearance
• managing and implementing our weekly menu within the framework mapped out for the year
• determining food inventory needs, ordering and working with the owner to keep to required food percentages
• stock control and ensuring orders are put away
• bringing creative ideas to our already extensive lists of recipes
• supervision of 2 kitchen staff
o controlling and directing the food preparation process.
• ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines.

Our kitchen is in full view of the public so an orderly, clean and professional work ethic is essential. In addition, you should have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask.
In return for your dedicated work we are offering:

circa $70,000 pa plus super depending on experience
4 weeks holidays per year
Monday to Friday hours (40 per week)
No nights
No weekends
