Well you’re not alone.

For a restaurant that’s been part of the Perth dining scene for more than 30 years, we’re constantly meeting people who either didn’t know we were here, or thought we were only a wedding venue.

The truth is, we’re open for lunch, dinner, drinks, special occasions, date nights, long lunches and everything in between.

Add Swan River views, the Perth city skyline, a seasonal menu and one of the best sunset spots in the city, and we’re not entirely sure why we’re still Perth’s best-kept secret.

Maybe it’s time you found out what you’ve been missing 😉

For Moss Wood on 14th August and our Champagne & Caviar evening on 18th September, details will be announced soon. Send us a DM or email to register your interest and hear about them first.

Meet Ivan, our new Sommelier đŸ·

Wine wasn’t something Ivan discovered... it was something he grew up with. Raised in a family with a deep passion for the craft, his grandfather was a winemaker in Piedmont, and that early connection to the vine shaped everything that followed.

To turn passion into profession, Ivan spent three years studying in Florence with the Italian Sommelier Association, completing his certification with the Associazione Italiana Sommelier. Now he brings that expertise, that heritage and that genuine love of wine to every table at Matilda Bay.

Next time you’re in, ask Ivan for a recommendation. We have a feeling you won’t be disappointed đŸŸ

The freshest dinner plans you’ll make this week🩞

Our West Australian crayfish doesn’t spend much time travelling. Caught fresh off the Geraldton coast, it makes its way straight to Perth, onto the chargrill, and onto your table overlooking the bay. What happens next is up to you... chargrilled whole and basted your way with brandy, chilli, garlic, pepper, or the lot.

Fresh. Local. $59. And right now, right here on the Swan River for a limited time only!

One week to go until we depart for Europe đŸŒđŸ·

Next Friday, we’ll be taking a journey through five of Europe’s most celebrated wine regions, with five carefully paired courses and wines guiding the way. From oysters and Sturia Oscietra caviar paired with Pierre Mignon Champagne in France, to Wagyu fillet with Istine Chianti Classico in Italy, before finishing in Portugal with spiced poached quince and Graham’s Fine Tawny Port.

Five countries. Five wines. Five courses. One unforgettable evening by the bay.

When winter desserts look this good, skipping dessert isn’t really an option 🍹

Our new dessert menu has arrived, featuring everything from Valrhona chocolate crĂ©meux with almond praline and citrus, to poached pear with white chocolate ganache, a classic mille-feuille with vanilla crĂšme diplomat, and our bright St Clement’s tart with grapefruit and citrus salsa.

The only difficult part? Deciding which one to order.

Or do what we’d do and share a few around the table 😉
