Thank you and farewell.
We've had a wonderful time the last two and a half years at the helm of Old Lira. It's been an absolute pleasure to get to know so many of our regulars, and share our passion for food and engage in plenty of great conversations.
Whilst we are contemplating our futures and taking a break, we encourage you to please support other local independently owned small businesses. The five places we've posted about over the last few days are a great start. The passion and care that they put into each of their products is without question.
Small business is the backbone of the Australian economy, and statistics show small business provides more employment opportunities than big business and government, combined. We need to make sure we support them regularly.
A huge thank you again to our employees, both past and present. Thanks also to our suppliers who provided fresh and delicious ingredients, and to our great landlord who was always supportive.
Love and thanks to the other local Basso hospitality businesses, many of whom we've become friends with. The community and support here is fantastic.
Lastly, thanks to you, our beautiful customers. Without your support, we wouldn't have been here for the time we were. We loved sharing great food and being of service to you.

Beautiful Bassendean Businesses, pt 5
Time to turn our attention to our nearest neighbour, 8 Napkins Burger.
Since we took over Old Lira, we've had a great friendship with the team across the road.
Doris, Mark and the team have always been there for us. Not only are they very friendly, their coffee (a big hit on long nights!) and food are always fantastic.

The newest of our fantastic neighbours is the very cool wine bar, Bertie
Since opening not long after we bought Old Lira, James and his team have done a great job in revitalising the old cork and bottle bar into a modern, sleek wine bar.
The team are always super friendly, and their drinks and food are perfect every time.
If you haven't enjoyed time at Bertie yet, drop in to 77 Old Perth Rd, Bassendean. Please be a good soul and support local independently owned small businesses.

Beautiful Bassendean Businesses, pt 3
Another one of our fantastic neighbours is the iconic 5 Four Store.
Like a cool old school general store, The 5 Four Store owners Deb and Michelle have created a creative space that offers delicious coffee, gourmet foods, gifts, plants, and assorted other items.
We love their super friendly service, their tasty coffee and toasties, and always enjoy a browse of their wares.
If you haven't been there, look for the striking black and white artwork at 71 Old Perth Rd, Bassendean. Please get out and support local independently owned small businesses.

Beautiful Bassendean Businesses, pt 2
The Teo family are like the quiet achievers of Bassendean hospitality. They have been delighting locals with Suisen Japanese Takeaway Restaurant for 18 years now, what an accomplishment!
Domo arigato gozaimasu (thank you very much) for the wonderful service and beautiful food - especially their vegetable curry and sashimi bento set.

Beautiful Bassendean Businesses, pt 1
Old Lira has been so lucky to have had our home here in Bassendean. Our owners are locals too, so when we aren't slaving away at a hot oven, you'll find us enjoying great places like Toe Beans Bassendean.
Silvia, Raj and the team have created such a great local cafe. Especially for breakfasts! We're hesitant to mention them, because we know how busy they always are now, and we need our fix!

It's the last week of Old Lira. Five more evenings to go.
We'll be open from 5.00pm each day, so please drop on down and dine in or get your takeaway fix.
We encourage you to order takeaway online via our website. We will be limiting sales on delivery platforms, and will always prioritise online orders and dine in customers.
Wednesday to Sunday this week, open from 5.00pm each day.

Apologies!
We've been inundated with orders. So much so, that we ran out of pizza bases by 7pm tonight. We've had to stop delivery platforms and phone orders a number off times the last few days, just because we've been too busy to provide a quality product and service.
We're humbled. Thank you to everyone who visited this week. There has been tears, hugs and gifts for the team. It's been an amazing week.
There's still one week to go, so come on down Wednesday to Sunday. We've had to pause bookings because it's become too hard to manage.
We encourage you to come early and grab any table without a reserved sign. The earlier the better. Unfortunately, Saturday 8th was totally reserved before we paused bookings.
We hope to see you in the coming few evenings.

Today is Halloween!
To celebrate, we've got zombies walking the streets handing out human flesh pizza and biting people. 🧟
No wait, that's wrong. To celebrate, we have our friends from Lolly Wall Aus coming down to hand out free lollies from their very cool Lolly Wall between 5-7pm. We promise, no zombies.
