Golden Bean is one of the region’s biggest coffee roasting competitions, with coffees judged blind by experienced coffee professionals across 12 categories, with only the top 20% of entries taking home Bronze.

And out of hundreds of entries, four Karvan coffees brought home Bronze!

Karvan Blend 4 — Category #2: Milk Based
Our most popular blend, with 5 Golden Bean Bronze medals since 2019. Rich, bold and full-bodied. A Karvan favourite for a reason.

Karvan Blend 5 — Category #2: Milk Based
Added to our core range in 2023 and already with 3 bronze medals. Super smooth, chocolatey and silky.

Karvan Decaf — Category #5: Decaf (Milk)
4 bronze medals, made with naturally processed Colombian coffee for a smooth, chocolatey and caramel profile with great balance.

Karvan Blend 6 — Category #2: Milk Based "Coming Soon"
Not even on the retail shelf yet, but already a Golden Bean medal winner. You’ll be able to taste what the judges tasted soon. Stay tuned.

It's a pretty good feeling knowing the coffee in your cup every morning can stand alongside some of the best in Australasia. That's not a one-off, that's what we roast every single day.

A huge thank you to Marte and our whole roasting team for the skill, care and consistency that goes into every batch. These medals are a reflection of the work you put in every day, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who competed, came along to watch, cheered from the sidelines, and helped make this such a special night.

Last year, Shaun and Emily snuck into our very first Karvan Cup as guests in the crowd. This year, they were there as the owners of Karvan Coffee, and what better night to introduce them to this incredible community.

Our coffee community is filled with incredible talent, passion and people who genuinely love coffee and the art of latte pouring. Every pour you saw was backed by hours, years even, of practice, dedication and hard work. We're so proud of every competitor who stepped up and gave it their all. Congratulations to everyone who competed, and a huge congratulations to our winner, Lin!

A very special thank you to our judges, Georgia and Rizky, for generously sharing your time, knowledge and expertise with our community. Events like this simply wouldn't be possible without people who are willing to give back and support the next generation of coffee talent.

To our wonderful supporters, Bannister Downs Dairy, thank you for keeping the milk flowing, and Kerry St Pear Tree for keeping everyone fed!

And a huge thank you to our Head of Coffee, Kahlia, and Digital Marketing Manager, Chia, who brought this event together from the ground up. From planning and organising to all the little things happening behind the scenes, so much work goes into making a night like this happen. We’re incredibly grateful to you both and to the entire Karvan team for getting behind it.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who continues to show up, support one another and help make WA’s coffee community what it is. We’re so grateful to be a part of it.

Round two done.
See you at the next one.

This month we're rolling over 13 extraordinary single origins we've been running. 6 espressos, 5 filters, plus two WOW coffees that have earned their keep.

It's a good chance to slow down and actually compare them properly. Different farm, different process, totally different cup.

Taste the gap and find your favourite.

Today we're celebrating an incredible milestone for Grow & Grind.

What started as a vision to create meaningful employment and training opportunities for people experiencing homelessness has grown into an inspiring social enterprise that's changing lives. Every cup supports people to build confidence, develop skills and take the next step towards a brighter future.

We're incredibly proud to have supported Grow & Grind since the very beginning, providing barista training, on-site mentoring, regular visits, and of course, supplying the coffee that fuels the journey.

A huge congratulations to the entire Grow & Grind and 55 Central team on this well-deserved recognition and the exciting next chapter. Your passion, dedication and belief in giving people a genuine hand up continue to inspire us.

Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of such an important mission. Here's to many more lives changed, one cup at a time.
